Biography

 

Mrs. Lucero has been practicing Plaintiff's personal injury law for twenty-one years.

Amalia graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1999, where she was a member of the National UNM Moot Court Team, and UNM National Criminal Mock Trial Team.  During her training she also worked as a clerk for the United States Attorney, United States Federal District Judge LeRoy Hansen, and was an observer at the Truth and Reconciliation Hearings in South Africa. In 1999, following graduation from law school, Mrs. Lucero went to work as a law clerk for the Chief Justice Pamela B. Minizer of the New Mexico Supreme Court, the first female Chief Justice for the Court.  Upon completion of her clerkship, she went to work for the firm known as Vigil & Vigil.  In 2005, she left to work for the Vigil Law Firm, and then in 2009, she became partner at Vigil & Lucero.  The firm changed to Curtis & Lucero and she remained a partner until May of 2019.  She has done extensive work in pre-suit, litigation, trial and appellate practice in most of the Courts in New Mexico and the Federal Court system. She has been elected to the Board of Directors for the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association and was copy editor for the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Journal for several years.

In May of 2019, Amalia left to form her own firm, the Law Offices of Amalia S. Lucero, LLC.

Amalia lives with her husband Michael and three children, Bella, Dante, and Michael in Placitas, New Mexico.
